The Spy Who Read Me
November 9, 2019
219 Loyola Avenue
New Orleans Public Library- Main Branch
Calling All Secret Agents! The evening will kick-off with a technical briefing from Q, in which participants will receive special information for a 007 James Bond themed scavenger hunt throughout the stacks of the Main Library. The mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to crack clues, solve challenges, and win prizes! The First Place Winner will receive two (2) domestic round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines. First Place Group/Team will receive a keg party for 50 at the District Lounge.
Dust off your trench coat or tuxedo: spy attire will be greatly rewarded and documented by the adoring paparazzi. Shaken, not stirred martinis and James Bond's signature Vesper martini are compliments of Seven Three Distilling. The Worry Free Jazz Duo (presented by Young Audiences) will kick off our musical entertainment, followed by Mark Carroll and Carmela Rappazzo. A silent auction and extravagant door prizes will complete the soiree.
Some of our city's best eateries, including City Greens, Five Happiness, Gattuso's, Liberty Cheesesteaks, Zea Rotisserie, Langenstein's, Messina's Runway Cafe, Tartine, Laurel Street Bakery, the Munch Factory and Katies Restaurant will be serving delicious food throughout the night.
Auction items include artwork by Dr. Bob, 3 custom built Little Free Libraries, a chartered fishing trip for 4, jewelry, resort packages and luxury services galore!
All proceeds from the event will directly support the New Orleans Public Library's Summer Fun and Reading Program. In 2019, more than 15,000 children, teens and adults enjoyed the benefits the program provided across 15 Orleans Parish library branches. Through the funds raised from this event, the FNOPL will continue to sponsor NOPL events, workshops, and incentives that champion literacy, strengthen communities, and enrich minds.
*Patron Level ticket purchasers receive special recognition at the event, entry into an exclusive patron-only raffle, and an acknowledgment in the event program and December issue of the New Orleans Public Library magazine.
